Safe Storage Law Resources
Safe Storage Law Resources
Districts are required to send information home to parents and caregivers on the safe storage of firearms. This is in accordance with the “Safe Storage Laws,” MCL 28.429, MCL 380.1313a, and MCL 380.1313b. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services provided this information to the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) for distribution.

What is ESSER?
The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund is part of the United States Education Department’s Educational Stabilization Fund Program that awards grants to schools for the purpose of providing school districts with emergency funds to address the impact that the Novel Coronavirus Disease has had and continues to have on Elementary and Secondary Schools. The Manchester Community School District (MCS) is looking to upgrade our classroom technology including moving from existing projector infrastructure to touch panel displays. MCS is also looking to upgrade the audio systems in each of the classrooms. The work will be broken out into multiple buckets and proposals can be any combination of the following.
Classroom Video - Google Certified Touch Displays with (minimum) 5 year warranty and management software.
Twenty-Two 75 inch screens for classroom and conference spaces.
One 86 inch screen on a cart for the Media Center (B132)
One 75 inch screen on a cart for B141
One 65 inch screen for breakout B130
Classroom Audio - Audio Enhancement solution for classroom spaces with a minimum one aux audio input, and support for up to 2 pendant microphones.
24 Classroom Audio Systems
2 Pendant Microphones per room and all necessary charging accessories.
4 speakers per classroom space.
Gym Audio Solution
Two wireless microphones including speakers.
The system needs to be able to project device (laptop, chromebook) audio from the center of the room wirelessly.
Example done via USB-C connection.
Cafeteria Audio Solution
Two wireless microphones and speakers near the stage.

The Manchester Community School District (MCS) is looking to upgrade our school clock technology by syncing our clocks to a single system and adding hallway clocks. MCS is interested in looking at IP based solutions to add the potential for alert notifications. 1. New IP based clock system for all classrooms and hallways with alerting capabilities for future development.
The schedule for this proposal is as indicated below. It may be modified at the discretion of the Manchester Community Schools Director of Technology.

The Board of Education of Manchester Community School District, Washtenaw County, Michigan, will receive sealed bids for the roofing replacement at Riverside Intermediate School; 710 E. Main Street, Manchester, MI 48158. The work generally consists of:
- Removal of existing mechanically fastened PVC roofing system complete down to existing roof deck
- Removal of the existing perimeter metal edge fascia or other flashings / caps as required for the work
- Installation of new flat and tapered insulation, fully-adhered EPDM membrane, and coverboard
- Installation of new perimeter metal edge fascia, cap flashings, counterflashings, etc.
- Raise existing rooftop equipment and components as necessary to satisfy warranty requirements
Specifications and Bid Forms will be available to Prime Contractors beginning Tuesday, January 6, 2026by contacting the office of the Architect, Ehresman Architects, via email at architects@ehresmanarchitects.com. The Architect will issue the requesting company(s) electronic (.pdf) files of the Contract Documents including drawings and specifications. The cost of document reproduction will be the responsibility of the requesting party.
A NON-MANDATORY Pre-Bidmeeting will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 @ 3:30 p.m. (local time) at Riverside Intermediate School; 710 E. Main Street, Manchester, MI 48158. Participants should meet at the main entry at which time the meeting will move to a designated room. It is the contractor’s responsibility to review and become familiar with the job site, conditions, etc. prior to submitting its bid to the district. Contact the Buildings & Grounds Director, Mr. Bryan Houttekier at (734) 646-9182 to arrange any subsequent site visits to review the project conditions.
Sealed bids will be due Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. (local time) at Riverside Intermediate School, 710 E. Main Street, Manchester, MI 48158, at which time and place the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.
